Seen the local news lately. Cop campaign against bikers lane splitting and shoulder riding. $80 fine etc. And then they tell you about this biker who ran into a battery in the shoulder. A battery!. Shi_t. First I heard that cop myth was 7 years ago. Wonder if its the same battery! How many bikers haven't come to grief cause of potholes, dropped loads in theft or right lane, drivers on the phone and thounsan other reasons. Battery my foot. We should have a ride, 5 k under the speed limit across all lanes, peak hour on lane splitting.
Its just tin tops with influence getting cheesed off being passed when they sit there. Get on a bike yourself.
If theres stand still traffic, would the Cop fine a push bike rider coming on the shoulder $80? I think not. Them push bikes ride left side, right side, pedestrian crossings, laws, anywhere, and they don't even have liability insurance.
If they had to legislate on riding on the shoulder. Then say 50 k limit on anyone riding on shoulder (two wheelers only any type).
As for Lane splitting, legal only when cars are not moving at all. I may not totally agree with that, but I could live with that.
Not everyone ride with a tea boiler in front of the engine.
Without any engine cooling (fan or water), do they really expect us to just sit there cooking the oil? Get real.
When injustice becomes law, resistance is duty. Would a motorcycle cop always ride behind stand still cars all the way when not on a call? Like when on his way home?
We could change this.
