Mar 21 2010, 2:25 AM EDT
Just got back from roll the dice run at warwick, well organised event, huge attendance to raise funds for rotary. Stayed from friday arvo would not miss it next year, ride went out through stanthorpe and back to warwick with a couple of stops in between at local schools, they catered for all as soon as we arrived. 300 - 350 bike registered which made the dice run magnificent. Made more new friends which is what these events do.

I had a great time on the run. these event have a huge impact on the small communities we go to. The profit made from the sale of food and drinks at each school remains at that school. They raise more money on a day like this than at all the work put into a fete. Stop and think of all the kids along the way. To see a pack of bike like that riding is something they would rarely ever. Have grown up in the area I know what this means to them.....exciting. The headmaster at Ballandeen was talking to me and remarked on the no of people limping or carrying some injury. Well I told him you don't learn to handle bikes like these without them teaching you a few lessons....so yea some of us are walking wounded with stories to tell. The other town we stopped at was Ameins. That year the money they raised from the ride enabled them to send two students to the USA. So come on folks next year lets try to make it a must. Oh for those who went on the Hells Angles Poker........we had support from police and no overkill. Sunday morning the made their services available for "Blow in the bag' inside the show grounds rather than out on the road. I congratulate Rotary in conjunction with the local community and the police for giving us a great ride at a great venue with lots of fun and interesting people to meet. Fun...fun...fun... By the way my photo in the Warwick paper. I ride on the back of a bike and love it.....My mother rode on the back of a horse in the Warwick rodeo when a young woman...Just keep the spirit of adventure alive in family.....cheer everyone
